As a part of a team...
In the past years I've worked with great persons on some audiovisual projects (intros and demos). I always loved to make things together with talented, visionary people. For me that was the essence of demoscene.
Spot (demo) - winner Assembly 2000
The last big project I was in and the first international winner demo for the Hungarian demoscene. The idea is from an old Pixar animation. The engine was not hardware accelerated which was rare at that time. Main code from NNS.
Music was made mainly by Generiq but at the end we make this in cooperation. (Since then we are very good friends and the way we're thinking about music are quite similar. Right now we are working on a project called Soulbrigade.) The last phase of development was done in my little flat in Budapest. We had a terrible few days fighting against the deadline. As I remember we didn't sleep for two days. By now I see (and hear) a lot of mistake but who cares... :)
You can read more about Spot here.
Heaven 7 (intro) - winner Mekka-Symposium 2000
This is my personal favourite. The one I'm most proud of. The creators were: Warpig (as allways) and Picard. I saw the first frames in 1997. Picard has made a brilliant ray-tracing engine which inspired Warpig. He sketched some scenes and I knew that this would be an outbreaking intro.
Making music was really enjoyable. The only rule was the file-size limit so I had to convert samples down. It brings that special distorted sounding. The sound was inspired by Aphex Twin (one of my favourites at that time).
We've recieved tons of fanmails for years. Thanks for them again! Finally here is a site with comments and reviews.
Radikal (demo) - winner Contest 1999
This was a cooperation with the demogroup Astral. I was asked to make a demo music. The coding and concept was coming from Robson. We had met some weeks before and tried to find out the main design elements. I didn't really think that it would come real. This is the only product which I haven't seen in the development phase. So it was itching to watch it first.
Freefall (wild-demo) - winner Evoke 1998
Making this animation is a long story. My old mate Warpig came out with an idea to make some 3d animated videoclip with trance like music. It was in 1995 as I remember. At that time our demo-team were "Loop!". We need a video engine, so Ketchup was involved as a coder. As we join "Exceed" this project was forgotten but some years later it was finally finished. Music is from 1996. Here you can read some comments.
Riprap (demo) - winner AntIQ 1998
The first one. All the creators are from my hometown, Miskolc. We worked hard on this piece. We wanted to make something special. In some aspects it worked others didn't. I remember clear when I made the music for the triangle part. My computer had crashed that week so I worked on the music at Warpig. He was allways at my back and give instructions which was very annoying in the middle of composing. When he went to have some lunch I had 15 minutes freedom. You can hear the fruit of that 15 minutes...
It was hard party-coding but 400km away from the party... React did a very good job. Great guy! :)
